2025 is shaping up to be just as good as 2024 for Mildmay rising country star Owen Riegling.
The 26-year-old has been nominated for half a dozen 2025 CMAOntario Awards. That is more nominations than any other Ontario-born country singer this year. The Country Music Association of Ontario announced the nominations on Thursday.
Riegling received noms for Single of the Year, Album of the Year, Songwriter of the Year, Male Artist of the Year, Music Video of the Year, and Fans' Choice. Last June at the CMAOntario Awards, he took home the prize for Male Artist of the Year and Breakthrough Artist of the Year. Three months later, the "Old Dirt Roads" singer was awarded the Songwriter of the Year and Breakthrough Artist of the Year at the Canadian Country Music Association awards. Late in the fall of 2024, Riegling embarked on his debut headlining tour across Canada and performed at the Grey Cup in Vancouver.
Last week, he received a prestigious King Charles III Coronation Medal for achievements in the music industry. It was then announced Riegling will be taking the stage on the second night of this year's Music in the Fields in Lucknow.
The CMAOntario Awards, presented by Cowbell Brewing Co., are being held at The Music Hall in Hamilton on June 1. Canadian country singer-songwriter Jason McCoy has been tapped as this year's host.
The 13th annual awards will close out the CMAOntario Festival & Awards Weekend.
