Bruce Power donates $5,000 to inclusive student program

Bruce-Grey Catholic District School Board (BGCDSB) has received a $5,000 donation from Bruce Power to support its Employing Individuals through Equity and Inclusion (Ei2) program.

The initiative, part of BGCDSB’s Limitless Ventures, provides students with diverse learning needs the opportunity to gain hands-on entrepreneurial experience while developing essential workplace skills. The Ei2 program offers students the chance to create, market, and sell products, helping them build business and employment skills.

Participants can earn industry-recognized certifications, enhance their independence, and engage with local employers to promote an inclusive workforce.

“We are incredibly grateful to Bruce Power for their generous support,” said Lisa Bilodeau, Superintendent of Education at BGCDSB. “This donation will directly benefit our students by expanding opportunities for skill development and real-world business experiences, reinforcing our commitment to creating inclusive and equitable learning environments.”

Bruce Power’s contribution will enhance the Ei2 program by increasing access to materials, resources, and mentorship. Students will also have the chance to continue developing their businesses beyond graduation, receiving ongoing support from the BGCDSB business hub.

"The Ei2 program is making a real impact by equipping students with hands-on experience and the confidence to pursue meaningful careers," said Jennifer Lang, Limitless Ventures Consultant. "This generous contribution from Bruce Power ensures we can continue fostering inclusive opportunities and expanding the program’s reach."

BGCDSB expressed its appreciation to Bruce Power for its continued commitment to education and the local community. More information about the Ei2 program is available at www.bgcdsb.org/ei2.
