Huron County has announced a campaign aimed at celebrating the contributions of immigrants to the area.
The "I Am Huron" campaign is now accepting nominations of local immigrants who have made a difference through their work, creativity, and involvement in the community.
Nominations will be accepted until April 30. The nominations will be reviewed by a subcommittee based on contributions to the community, business and economic impact, and cultural or artistic contributions.
Selected nominees will be featured in numerous "I Am Huron" campaign releases including in print publications, social media, and at a special celebration event.

"The I Am Huron campaign aims to recognize and celebrate the ways that newcomers enrich our culture in a meaningful way. We want to showcase individuals who have made a positive impact on communities in Huron County," explained Pam Somers, co-chair of Huron County’s Immigration Partnership. "The campaign seeks to shine a positive light on their stories, foster connections, and encourage mutual understanding."
