OPP release suspect image in Mount Forest break-in

Wellington County OPP are continuing their investigation into a break-and-enter that took place at a business on Main Street South in Mount Forest.

Authorities have released a new update, including a clearer timeline of the events and an image of the suspect involved in the theft.

The break and enter occurred on March 10, 2025, and police were dispatched to the scene at approximately 8 a.m. Upon arriving, officers began investigating the theft, which was initially reported to have occurred between 5:30 a.m. and 8 a.m. However, new information from local CCTV footage has provided a more precise timeline of events.

According to the footage, at approximately 5:26 a.m., the suspect used an unknown object to shatter the lower pane of the business's front glass door, gaining access to the premises. Once inside, the suspect ransacked the interior and left with two amplifiers. The suspect fled the scene at approximately 6:19 a.m.

The stolen items, which are now confirmed to include two amplifiers rather than the previously reported guitar and amplifier, are valued at approximately $350. The cost to repair the glass door has not yet been determined.

The suspect is described as male, dressed entirely in black, and carrying a backpack. The suspect's image, captured from the CCTV footage, has been released as part of the ongoing investigation.

Police are urging the public to come forward with any information related to the incident. Authorities are interested in any dash camera or door cam footage from the area around the time of the break-in.
