OPP charge nearly 150 drivers in early stages of "Stay Focused" campaign

According to a release, officers operating in the OPP's West Region have charged nearly 150 drivers in the first stages of the "Stay Focused" campaign.

The OPP have charged 146 drivers so far since the campaign kicked off on March 1. The "Stay Focused" traffic blitz is aimed at "reducing the number of deaths and injuries caused by inattentive driving on Ontario's roads and highways," according to the release.

Police are reminding drivers that you could face severe penalties for distracted driving. In Midwestern Ontario, 7 drivers have been charged so in Huron County, 2 in South Bruce, 8 in Perth County and 28 in Wellington County.

The "Stay Focused" campaign continues until April 4, 2025.
