Man charged after threats made with gun in Perth East

A 26-year-old man is accused of threatening people with a gun, driving drunk, and assault after an weekend incident in Perth East.

Perth County OPP were called about a man with a firearm making threats at an undisclosed location on Sunday. Police stopped a suspect vehicle and arrested one person without incident.

No injuries were reported.

A Milbank man is charged with two counts each of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and uttering threats and one count each of impaired driving, operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol concentration exceeding 80 milligrams of alcohol per 100 milliliters of blood, dangerous driving, assault with a weapon, knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm, careless use of a firearm, and occupying a vehicle with a firearm.

The man was scheduled to appear for a bail hearing in Stratford court on Monday.

Police said the investigation is ongoing.
