CKNX calls on public to share memorabilia for 100th anniversary celebration

As AM 920 CKNX prepares to celebrate its 100th anniversary in 2026, the station is inviting the public to contribute memorabilia to help commemorate the milestone.

Since its founding in February 1926, CKNX has been a staple in homes, cars, and communities across Midwestern Ontario. From its early days as an experimental broadcast in the back of a radio shop to becoming a full-service classic country and news station, CKNX has played a key role in local storytelling for nearly a century.

Listeners who have collected CKNX-related memorabilia over the years are encouraged to share items such as vintage posters, promotional merchandise, audio or video recordings, and other historical artifacts that highlight the station’s legacy.

"Our listeners and viewers over the last 99 years have been an integral part of CKNX's story and history," Program Manager JC Coutts said. "We wouldn't have been around for a century without them and we would love to borrow anything they might have to help us with our anniversary celebrations."

Those with historical items can submit details through the CKNX 100th Anniversary page at CKNX.ca or call 519-537-3937.
