The Municipality of Kincardine is welcoming a new physician to its healthcare team.
Dr. Yousry Soliman has officially signed an agreement to join the Kincardine Family Health Organization and will begin seeing patients as early as May 2025.
In addition to opening his family practice, Dr. Soliman will also provide care at the South Bruce Grey Health Centre’s Kincardine Hospital.
Dr. Soliman’s recruitment is part of Practice Ready Ontario (PRO), a Ministry of Health pilot program aimed at integrating internationally trained physicians into communities with high healthcare needs.
Kincardine is among the first locations in the province to successfully recruit a doctor through this initiative.
Launched in 2023, the PRO program removes the need for additional re-education for internationally trained physicians, accelerating their entry into Ontario’s healthcare system.
All participating doctors undergo a 12-week assessment to ensure they meet the standards of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO). The program also requires a three-year commitment to serving rural or northern communities.
Dr. Soliman brings extensive experience to Kincardine. He holds a Doctorate of Medicine from Cairo University and has practiced in Toronto, Northern Ontario, and Bancroft, as well as internationally in Egypt and Saudi Arabia. With a strong background in primary care, urgent care, and emergency medicine, he is well-equipped to support the growing healthcare needs of Kincardine residents.
Once his practice opens, Dr. Soliman will be accepting new patients. Residents looking for a family doctor can join the Kincardine Family Health Organization’s waitlist online at kincardinefht.ca under the heading “Don’t Have a Doctor?”
The Municipality of Kincardine also expressed gratitude to Bruce Power and the Society of United Professionals for their continued support of physician recruitment and retention efforts.
