Young artists celebrate spring at St. Marys Station Gallery

The vibrant colours and fresh energy of spring will soon bloom at the St. Marys Station Gallery, thanks to the creativity of local elementary students.

The gallery’s 2025 Elementary Schools Exhibition will showcase artwork from students at Little Falls and South Perth Centennial Public Schools, celebrating the beauty of spring flowers.

According to organizers, art education plays a vital role in child development, fostering creativity, confidence, and problem-solving skills. This year’s theme, spring flowers, invites young artists to capture the essence of renewal and growth through their unique artistic expressions.

"At the end of a long cold winter, we welcome and anticipate the arrival of spring. Nothing represents the arrival of spring better than flowers and children love flowers," said a statement from the Gallery. "Their colour, design and fragrance can inspire the young artists to create a personal and honest vision that only children possess."

The exhibition preview will take place on Friday, February 28, from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., giving art lovers an early look at the students’ work.

The official opening reception will follow on Saturday, March 1, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the gallery, located in the historic VIA train station at 5 James St. N.

The public is encouraged to attend and support the next generation of artists as they welcome the arrival of spring through art.
