Bruce Power's COO and Executive Vice President of Operational Services has been appointed to a very important position.
James Scongack has been named as co-chair of the Ontario Chamber’s Business and Trade Leadership Coalition.
Scongack is joined by fellow co-chair Chris Conway, CEO of Food & Beverage Ontario. The two were officially named in a media release on February 14.
The Ontario Chamber’s Business and Trade Leadership Coalition was established in January of this year, uniting different leaders from across Ontario's business community.
The goal of the coalition is to "champion business-driven solutions, advocate for effective government policies, and solidify Ontario’s position as a global leader in trade," according to a media release from the coalition.
"The Ontario Chamber is excited to welcome leaders with complementary expertise as co-chairs of this incredibly diverse coalition," said Daniel Tisch, President and CEO of the Ontario Chamber of Commerce. "Their leadership will help Ontario business and our government partners navigate the immediate threats of U.S. tariffs and rising protectionism, and develop long-term strategies to improve our economic competitiveness and resilience."
"I am honoured to co-chair the OBTLC and look forward to working with our members to identify solutions that will strengthen Ontario businesses’ global competitiveness," Scongack added. "Together, we can create a more sustainable and prosperous future for all."
