The 2nd annual CS8 Memorial Sno-Pitch tournament will be held this month in Mitchell.
The tournament was created in memory of Carter Schoonderwoerd, who tragically died by suicide on June 7, 2021.
Carter's family will continue to honour his memory with the upcoming CS8 Memorial Outdoor Rink project in Mitchell, and the Sno-Pitch tournament, which has seven teams this year and will take place on Saturday, February 15 at the Mitchell Arena.
Pamela Schoonderwoerd Smith, Carter's aunt, says the goal of the tournament is to encourage social interactions in a fun environment.
"That's what I want to be the take away for our CS8 tournament: FUN and social interaction with family and friends. It's tough during the winter months to keep your positivity going. We all struggle! But we persevere, and get to the next day/season," Pamela shared.
