Over $17K in cocaine, meth seized in Clinton

Provincial police in Huron County have seized more than $17,000 worth of cocaine and methamphetamine from a home in Clinton.

Officers with the OPP major crime unit, the Huron-Perth community street crimes units, and the emergency response team raided the Albert Street home on Monday. The search turned up a quantity of suspected cocaine and methamphetamine that are valued at an estimated $17,200, police said.

The search was part of an ongoing drug trafficking probe that was launched by major crime investigators in December.

Two Central Huron men, aged 61 and 27, were arrested.

The 61-year-old man is charged with two counts of possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking and one count of trafficking in firearms, weapons, or ammunition. The 27-year-old faces one count of possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking.

Both men have been released from custody and are scheduled to appear in Goderich court on February 24.

Police are asking anyone with information in relation to this investigation to call them at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
