Hazards:
Locally heavy snowfall with total accumulations of 15 to 30 cm.
Peak snowfall rates of 2 to 4 cm per hour.
Reduced visibility at times in heavy snow and local blowing snow.

Timing:
This evening through Wednesday afternoon.

Discussion:
Lake effect snow off Lake Huron will become more organized this evening. Northwesterly winds gusting to 50 km/h may result in local blowing snow, predominantly for exposed areas near Lake Huron. Lake effect snow will weaken and move out of the area Wednesday afternoon.

Snow squalls cause weather conditions to vary considerably; changes from clear skies to heavy snow within just a few kilometres are common. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow.

Bruce County officials have confirmed no one was injured in a fire at an apartment building operated by Bruce County Housing Corporation.On January 12 at 5:30 a.m., a fire was reported at 659 Arlington Street in Port Elgin.Saugeen Shores firefighters arrived on scene alongside other emergency services personnel and found an active fire in a second floor unit. Crews were on scene until 7:15 a.m., and firefighters were able to contain the fire to the single unit.The building had been completely evacuated, and residents were all able to return to their units following the departure of emergency crews. No one was injured.Victim Services is assisting tenants impacted by the fire.
