The Township of Georgian Bluffs has installed a second columbarium at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, providing families with more options for honoring their loved ones in this serene and picturesque setting.
Located on Grey Rd 17A, Mount Pleasant Cemetery offers tranquil views of Georgian Bay and vibrant springtime blooms of daffodils, adding to its peaceful ambiance. The new 48-niche columbarium, crafted entirely from Canadian-sourced granite, offers an elegant alternative to traditional inground cremation burials. Each niche accommodates two cremation urns, combining durability with refined design.
The first columbarium, installed in 2019, reached full capacity, prompting the addition of this new unit. The Township expressed its gratitude to Nelson Granite Ltd., Harris Transport Ltd., and Vanwyck Crane Service for their contributions to the project.
Mount Pleasant Cemetery continues to provide a variety of interment options, including full casket burials, cremation burials, and columbarium spaces.
