The United Way Bruce Grey is urging families, business groups or service groups to sign a team up for the Coldest Night of the Year events in Grey Highlands, Meaford, Saugeen Shores, and Kincardine.
Christy Andre, Fundraising Champion of United Way Bruce Grey, says the event raises money for individuals and families experiencing hunger, homelessness, and other hardships.
"You can sign up for the two kilometre or the five kilometre walk, depending on what you can do, you can do it virtually. You can do it wherever and whenever, or you can come to the event," said Andre. "And it's a nice evening. You start out with registering at 4 p.m., and then the walk starts at p.m., and then you come back to the event location."
The events also raises awareness of the challenges faced by the community's most vulnerable residents.
"The Coldest Night of the Year Walk is about more than just raising essential funds—it’s about shining a light on the challenges faced by our community’s most vulnerable members," added Andre. “Together, we are taking meaningful steps to support those living in poverty and create a stronger, more compassionate community."
