Around 1:45 p.m., police received a report of an unwanted person at an address along John Street.
According to OPP, an individual brandished an edged weapon during an altercation and fled before police arrived on scene.
A suspect was later located and arrested without incident.
The accused is set to appear in the Walkerton Court next month to answer to the charge.
