Humane society receives large donation

The Humane Society of Kitchener Waterloo and Stratford Perth has received a sizeable donation.

A $30,000 has been made by Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada to the humane society's Better Together Capital Campaign, aimed at expanding its facilities and enhancing its services to better serve animals in need.

The funding will help the humane society in building a new Community Outreach Centre, improved medical facilities, an improved Pet Pantry Food Bank, a new space for educational programming, and a community outreach vehicle.

A release from the humane society shares that "this large investment will directly benefit thousands of people and animals in the region, providing them with a safe and caring environment while also advancing the humane society’s mission to improve animal welfare, encourage responsible pet ownership, and keep people and pets together."

"This incredible donation from Toyota reflects the power of community support in transforming lives," said Humane Society of Kitchener Waterloo and Stratford Perth CEO Victoria Baby. "Through their generosity, we’re able to take another step toward realizing our vision of a brighter future for pets and people alike. This partnership will directly impact thousands of lives by bringing essential services closer to those who need them most."

"At Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada, we are committed to supporting programs and initiatives that empower our communities with the resources and opportunities they need to prosper and succeed," added Lynn Hall, External Affairs Analyst at Toyota. "We’re thrilled to be supporting The Humane Society of Kitchener Waterloo and Stratford Perth and their Better Together campaign, which will help countless people and pets in the KW community and beyond."
