The Ontario Federation of Agriculture (OFA) is encouraging Ontarians to add a local touch to their holiday celebrations by choosing a real, fresh-cut Christmas tree.
OFA President Drew Spoelstra highlights that Christmas trees are among over 200 crops grown in Ontario and purchasing one supports local farmers and the province’s economy.
The OFA's Home Grown campaign emphasizes the importance of protecting Ontario farmland, which provides food, fuel, fibre, and flowers. Buying a fresh tree from a local farm or retailer not only enhances holiday traditions but also helps preserve farmland for future generations.
