It's going to be a very snowy weekend across midwestern Ontario.
Environment Canada has issued snow squall warnings for much of the region, as a multi-day lake effect snow event gets underway.
"Bands of lake effect snow off Lake Huron will affect the area through the weekend," the warning said. "These bands will shift from time to time but will be capable of intense snowfall rates. Travel is expected to be difficult to nearly impossible at times under these bands. As is common with snow squalls, snowfall amounts will be highly variable with some areas capable of receiving in excess of 75 cm by late Sunday."
