The annual CKNX Relief Truck is off to a running start this year.
The annual holiday campaign that collects food and monetary donations to support local food banks kicked off the 2024 holiday campaign in Wingham at Fogel's Independent Grocery.
Many food bag donations have poured in already, which are being sold in the storefront for $10 a bag. The Lucknow Kinsmen also dropped by to make a $5,000 donation to the Relief Truck. The donation came directly from the annual Music in the Fields event, with the money going dfirectly to North Huron Community Food Share.
This is the 10th annual CKNX Relief Truck campaign, originally launched by CKNX legend Buzz Reynolds. The truck supports the North Huron Community Food Share, The Walkerton Food Bank, The Salvation Army, and North Huron Community Food Share.
You can also help out by purchasing food or gift cards from the following participating locations: Fogel’s Independent Grocer in Wingham, Foodland in Brussels, Wingham, and Walkerton, Kaufman’s Independent in Walkerton, Blyth Food Market and Fresh-Mart in Mildmay.
The CKNX Relief Truck campaign runs from November 25 until December 2.
The Lucknow Kinsmen also stopped by the local Salvation Army with another $5,000 cheque from Music in the Fields, and also made donations of $2,500 to Maitland River Elementary School for the Munchie Program and $500 to Mental Health Matters.
