Hanover’s Innovative People Program's (HIPP) Entrepreneur Business Plan Competition has announced the winners of this year's competition.
The three winners shared in over $11,000 in prizes. Irene Dixon of Kids Play Indoor Play Centre was the first place winner, taking $8,700.
In second was John Schnurr of The Alley Family Entertainment Centre, winning $2,300. Third place was taken by Maksim Karasev of Craft CNC, winning $1,700.
An awards gala was held November 14 to announce the winners. Eight applications in total were received for the competition, which will be held biennially. It is geared towards entrepreneurs that wish to open, purchase, or re-locate a business in the Town of Hanover.
“All contestants are winners, and we look forward to seeing their businesses grow in the Hanover community,” stated April Marshall, Hanover’s economic development manager. “This competition is an element of our business attraction efforts, and we want entrepreneurs to know that Hanover embraces people with big ideas and has the programs and supports available to make their dream a reality.”
“This event marks a significant milestone in our shared vision to cultivate a thriving environment for small businesses in our community," said Mayor Sue Patterson. “This competition is also about the experiences gained, the connections and relationships formed, and the skills acquired along the way. These tools will not only enhance participants’ entrepreneurial journeys but will also empower their personal and professional growth.”
