Grey County has completed a $3.3 million roundabout project at the intersection of Grey Roads 3 and 4, aiming to improve safety and manage high traffic volumes.
The new roundabout is expected to significantly reduce accidents and enhance traffic flow. The intersection has long been a critical junction for local drivers, serving as a central point on two high-traffic routes. Despite meeting current safety standards, the area has seen more accidents than most intersections in Grey County.
Grey County Warden Brian Milne praised the project as a significant step forward for regional road safety.
"This new roundabout at Grey Roads 3 and 4 exemplifies our commitment to improving roadway safety across Grey County. We are grateful for the support of our federal and provincial partners in making this critical safety enhancement a reality. Together, we’re making travel safer for our residents and visitors alike," he said.
Funding for this project was secured through the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program’s Rural and Northern Communities stream. The federal government contributed $910,000, the province added $606,600, and Grey County covered the remaining costs.
