One person has been arrested following a stabbing in Owen Sound.
On November 1 at 7 a.m., a man walked into the lobby of the Owen Sound police station after having been stabbed in the torso.
Officers immediately provided first aid and local EMS crews came to transport the man to Brightshores Hospital.
A police investigation resulted in a suspect being identified. Just before 8 a.m. the same day, police spotted a suspect riding a bike near where the incident occurred and arrested him. Investigators searched the area and located the knife that was used in the stabbing.
Investigators determined that this was a case of mistaken identity, as the suspect believed the victim had stolen from him.
The 31-year-old accused has been charged assault with a weapon, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace and assault. The man is currently in custody awaiting a bail court appearance.
Luckily, the victim's injuries were non-life threatening.
