Grey Bruce OPP are reminding residents in Georgian Bluffs to keep their doors and windows locked after a pair of break-ins.
Police were called about a person breaking into a home on Grey Road 18 around 7:30 p.m. on October 20. The resident reported that they noticed their rear patio door was open and saw a person at the rear of their home. That individual was last seen running from the property.
The intruder is described as a man, approximately 5'9", who was wearing blue jeans and a grey hoodie.
While canvassing neighbours for information on the incident, officers learned of a second break-in. This one happened at a neighbouring property around 2 a.m. on the same day as the first one break-in. Police were told the resident awoke to the sound of someone trying to open the back door to their home.
Nothing was stolen in either incident.
"The Grey Bruce OPP want to remind all residents to lock the doors of the homes, sheds, and vehicles even if you are home," police said in a statement issued on Tuesday.
Anyone with information about the break-ins is asked to call police at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
