Spitfires beat Owen Sound to extend OHL's best record

The Windsor Spitfires showed on Saturday why they have the OHL’s best record.

They ended up winning on the road against the Owen Sound Attack 4-1.

Neither team were able to score in the first. The only powerplay went to the Attack.

Owen Sound would open the scoring early in the second period when Antonio Tersigni found the back of the net for his 3rd of the season. His goal was unassisted.

The Spitfires wouldn’t be behind for too long as Owen Outwater scored less than four minutes later. The goal was his 3rd of the season with Nathan Gaymes and Jack Nesbitt getting the assists.

Shortly after, Nesbitt would score his 5th of the year on the powerplay. Liam Greentree and Ilya Protas with the helpers.

Spitfires’ captain Greentree scored his 5th of the season later in the period. The assists went to Carson Woodall and Protas.

Windsor outshot Owen Sound 23 to 6 in the period.

Greentree would cap the scoring with a goal in the last second of the game. Anthony Cristoforo with the only assist.

With the win, Windsor improves its record to 8-1-1-0, while Owen Sound moves to 3-5-1-1.

Both teams will face off against each other again on Thursday, October 24, in Windsor.
