More local blood donation events coming to Midwestern Ontario

Canadian Blood Services will be holding more blood donation events in Midwestern Ontario this fall.

One will be held on Tuesday, November 26 from 1-7 p.m. at the Mount Forest Recreation Complex.

Another will be on Wednesday, November 27 from 2-7 p.m. at the Owen Sound Legion.

Canadian Blood Services says in a release that today, more patients need blood products than we have seen over the past decade. As the population of Canada grows and ages, there has been an increase in surgeries and treatments that require blood transfusions.

Additionally, 1 in 2 Canadians are eligible to donate blood, but only 1 in 76 does.

Book an appointment now by downloading the GiveBlood app, calling 1-888-2-DONATE (1-888-236-6283) or booking online at blood.ca
