Two people charged in 'serious' assault and robbery

Huron County OPP have arrested and charged two people following what police are calling a "serious" assault and robbery.

On October 5 at 7:30 p.m., police located an adult victim who claimed they had been assaulted and robbed. The incident took place on Minnie Street in Wingham.

Following an investigation by the Huron County OPP Major Crime Unit, two people were arrested and charged.

The suspects, a 29-year-old and 24-year-old from North Huron, have been charged with aggravated assault and robbery with violence. The 24-year-old is also charged with obstructing a peace officer.

Both of the accused were held in custody for a bail hearing, where they were remanded into custody to await a further court appearance at the Ontario Court of Justice in Goderich.
