Two workers dead after scaffolding collapse near Owen Sound

The Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training, and Skills Development (MLITSD) has confirmed that two construction workers died Thursday in an incident near Kilsyth.

According to the ministry, scaffolding collapsed inside a silo at Sharedon Farms, and two workers died. The employer was Wilhelm Concrete of Stratford, which the ministry says eight requirements have been issued to. One requirement has also been issued to Sharedon Farms.

"We extend our deepest condolences to the families, friends, and colleagues of the workers during this difficult time," said MLITSD spokesperson Manuel Alas-Sevillano.

Two MLITSD inspectors have been assigned to the ongoing investigation, and no further details were provided by the ministry.

Grey Road 5 was closed for several hours Thursday as emergency services from the area responded.
