The Listowel Wingham Hospital Alliance made the announcement that the ED in Wingham would be closed from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m.
LWHA stated that the closure was due to "staffing shortages" and the organization regreted having to close the ED in Wingham.
Ambulances were to bypass the hospital during the closure period and travel to the nearest open ED.
