A $125,000 drug bust has left two Mildmay residents facing charges.
According to Hanover police, the month-long investigation saw them conduct several searches at undisclosed locations with the assistance of South Bruce OPP, the OPP Gaming investigation unit, and the Saugeen Shores Police Service.
Officers turned up a substantial quantity of illicit drugs including 254 grams of fentanyl, 1.2 lbs of methamphetamine, and 14 grams of crack cocaine, as well as stolen property.
The value of the seized drugs is $125,000, while the value of the stolen property is more than $5,000, police said.
A 37-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman, both from Mildmay, are charged with three counts of possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking and one count of possession of stolen property. The man faces an additional charge of driving while prohibited.
Police anticipate there will be more arrests related to this investigation.
Since the start of the year, Hanover police have seized more than $244,000 worth of cocaine, fentanyl, methamphetamine, and other opiates. Four guns, 13 replica guns, three prohibited weapons, multiple vehicles, $850 in counterfeit money, and nearly $25,000 in cash has also been found by investigators.
"The Hanover Police Service and policing partners are committed to making all of our streets safer, reducing the supply of illicit drugs, and holding those involved in the drug trade to account," police said in a statement.
