Teen charged after vehicle crashes into Kincardine home

An 18-year-old man is accused of crashing a vehicle into a house while trying to get away from South Bruce OPP.

An officer, on patrol on Bruce Road 23 in the Municipality of Kincardine, tried to pull over a vehicle around 6:40 p.m. on Wednesday. The driver did not stop and the suspect vehicle sped away from the officer at a high rate of speed, police said.

The officer did not chase after the vehicle out of concern for the public.

A few moments later, the same vehicle reportedly collided with a home on Kingsway Street. The driver took off running, but was arrested nearby.

An 18-year-old Kincardine man is charged with flight from police, dangerous driving, failure to remain at a crash, and driving a vehicle without insurance. He is scheduled to appear in Walkerton court in relation to the charges on November 20.

Police did not report any injuries in connection with the collision.
