Investigators ask for surveillance footage of break-and-enter near community centre

Huron County OPP are asking for any video surveillance footage that could help solve a recent break-and-enter.

On August 31 at 5:18 a.m., officers responded to a report of a break-and-enter in progress in the area of the Brussels, Morris-Grey Community Centre at 800 Sports Drive in Brussels.

Investigators determined that a lone suspect broke into a home, with the suspect running off after being confronted by the homeowner.

The suspect is described as a 40-year-old white male, six feet tall with a heavy build. The suspect had light brown or orange coloured stubble on his face, and was wearing a dark-coloured, partial face covering.

The OPP is asking residents in the village of Brussels to check their video surveillance footage from overnight on Friday, August 30 into the early morning of Saturday, August 31 for any individual matching this description or vehicles observed in the area.

Police believe this individual may have been involved in other suspicious incidents in the Brussels area.

If you have any footage or information, contact Huron County OPP or Crime Stoppers.
