Graffiti and trail tree chopping leads police to increase patrols in Kincardine

Residents in the Municipality of Kincardine can expect to see more police in the region following two separate acts of vandalism.

South Bruce OPP were recently notified about graffiti and litter under the Durham Street bridge. They were also advised that multiple trees along the Bruce County Rail Trail had been intentionally cut down.

Police did not specify how many trees were chopped or what the graffiti depicted. However, they did state that as a result of the two incidents, there will be an increased number of patrols by officers on foot, bicycles, and on ATVs in the area.

The investigation into the two acts of mischief is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
