$100K donation flows to Saugeen Shores Aquatic Centre

The mayor of Saugeen Shores is offering a sincere "thank you" to the Bruce Power Local of the Society of United Professionals (SUP), after it announced a six-figure donation to the fundraising campaign for the municipality's Aquatic & Wellness Centre (AWC).

The town welcomed a $100,000 donation to the AWC’s “Just Add Water” fundraising campaign.

“Time and time again, the Bruce Power Local of the SUP have showcased their tradition of generosity by supporting the betterment of our community,” said Mayor Luke Charbonneau. “I would like to offer our sincerest thanks and gratitude to all SUP members for their help in bringing this, new facility to life.”

Construction on the Aquatic & Wellness Centre is currently underway. The new facility will offer an eight-lane pool, as well as a fitness and wellness centre.

“We are incredibly proud to support the construction of the Aquatic and Wellness Center in Saugeen Shores,” said Dave Ceksters, Vice President, Society of United Professionals, Bruce Power Local. “This donation underscores our continuing commitment to support regional initiatives that promote wellness, participative and active lifestyles in the communities in which our members work, live and play. By investing in this fantastic facility, The Society aims to create lasting benefits for residents, visitors and future generations.”

It is one of the town's biggest capital projects to date and will serve as a regional recreational hub.
