Police recover truck and trailer stolen from Kincardine

A North Huron man has been charged after allegedly stealing a pickup truck and trailer from a Kincardine property Wednesday morning.

South Bruce OPP say the theft was reported around 5 a.m. from an address along Sideroad 15 North.

Investigation revealed the stolen pick-up truck with attached livestock trailer was abandoned in the area of Bervie Sideroad and Concession 5.

Police say the driver ran from the scene, but was later located with the assistance of the OPP Canine Unit and members of the Emergency Response Team.

As a result of the investigation, the 27-year-old from North Huron is facing charges including theft over $5,000, dangerous driving, driving while under suspension, and two counts of failure to comply with a probation order.

The accused was held for a bail hearing and subsequently remanded into custody.
