Crash in Goderich claims life of senior

Huron County OPP are investigating a collision in Goderich that killed a 91-year-old.

Just after 10:30 a.m. on September 16, emergency crews were called to the intersection of Blake Street East and Gibbons Street in Goderich after getting a call about a collision involving an SUV and a mobility scooter.

Emergency crews arrived and discovered that a rider of an electric mobility scooter had been seriously injured. The scooter rider was taken by ambulance to a local hospital where they were later pronounced deceased.

The deceased is a 91-year-old resident of Goderich.

Police remain on-scene as they conduct the investigation. Sections of Blake Street and Gibbons Street are currently closed for the investigation and will remain closed for several hours.
