Man charged with assault following incident in Lucknow

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) in South Bruce have arrested a 39-year-old following an assault investigation in Huron-Kinloss.

Officers were called around 6 p.m. Thursday to Havelock Street in Lucknow, on a report of suspicious people carrying baseball bats.

Police arrived and saw two people engaged in an altercation. One of them brandished an edged weapon and was arrested without incident.

There were two victims, one who sustained minor injuries and fled the scene, and the other remaining at the location.

The suspect is charged with three counts of assault with a weapon.

The charges have not been proven in court. The suspect was held pending a bail hearing in a Walkerton court.
