Inaugural Clean Energy Frontier conference planned

The Nuclear Innovation Institute in Bruce County will host the area's inaugural Clean Energy Frontier conference.

Institute President and CEO, Jessica Linthorne, explained the conference builds on their previous Clean Energy Frontier Summits.

"Our conference is the first in the region event that will have a unique platform for driving innovation and collaboration across Bruce, Grey and Huron counties, including our local indigenous communities too," she said.

Beginning the afternoon of Monday, September 30 — with time to honour the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation — the conference continues for a full day of sessions Tuesday, October 1. The event will take place at the NII Advance Technology Campus in Tiverton — located in the Bruce Energy Centre, across from the Bruce Power Visitors’ Centre.

"We're really using the conference as a platform from our one day clean energy frontier summit event. We've offered a one day event in the past for many years, and it fills up quickly. Is really exciting opportunity to come together," said Linthorne. "So by expanding this to a two day conference, we're looking forward to bringing our municipal leaders, community leaders, and industry partners together to really celebrate the clean energy, efforts happening right here in the Bruce-Grey-Huron region."

The conference is open to anyone interested in the area's clean energy development. Linthorne pointed out participants can network with industry leaders, innovators and local experts engaged in the region’s clean energy landscape.

"Sessions at the conference will include topics around workforce development, isotope innovation and climate change action right here, with the local context across Bruce-Grey-Huron," she added.

Tickets are limited. You can reserve them at eventbrite.com/e/clean-energy-frontier-conference-tickets-995422364087.
