Woman charged in Hanover stabbing

A 36-year-old woman of no fixed address is charged after allegedly stabbing a man several times in Hanover on Tuesday night.

Local police say they responded to a disturbance at a 10th Avenue residence around 9 p.m.

When they arrived, officers discovered a man had been stabbed several times in the face and neck by a female acquaintance.

Officers located the woman attempting to leave the scene, and she was taken into custody without incident.

The man was transported to the Hanover and District Hospital, where he was treated for his injuries and later released.

Hanover Police Service charged the woman with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and four counts of breach of probation. She was held in custody until her bail hearing Wednesday.

The investigation remains ongoing, and police are asking others who have information to contact investigators at 519-364-2411.
