Charges laid following assault

A Walkerton resident has been charged following a recent assault.

South Bruce OPP officers responded to a call just before 7 p.m. on August 25 on Old Durham Road in Walkerton.

The investigation determined that two individuals were in a verbal dispute that escalated to an assault.

As a result, a 37-year-old from Walkerton has been charged with assault.

Police say this was an isolated incident and there is no threat to public safety. If anyone has any information regarding this incident or if anyone witnessed it, contact South Bruce OPP or Crime Stoppers.
