Two charged in robbery and assault investigation

One person remains in hospital following an alleged robbery and assault last week.

On Sunday, August 18, they responded to an east side apartment building where a male was being assaulted in a parking lot and another male had a gun.

Members of the Criminal Investigation Branch and the Forensic Identification Unit were called out to investigate, and it revealed two men went to the parking lot of the apartment building and were met by two other males.

One man was assaulted and knocked unconscious and robbed, after which the two males fled. The third male obtained an air pistol and chased after the two assailants, shooting out their vehicle windows and a bus shelter.

The suspects vehicle was later found at an industrial property on the east side, and a search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of drugs, including over $4,000 in in methamphetamine and Fentanyl as well as weapons and other evidence.

The victim was sent to a local hospital where his condition deteriorated and was air lifted to London Health Sciences.

They continue to be in critical but stable condition.

A 46-year-old Owen Sound man and a 22-year-old of no fixed address have several charges against them including drug and weapons offences.

The two suspects were held for a bail hearing.
