One last chance to weigh in on Walkerton Bridge

Bruce County has nearly completed the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment for the Durham Street Bridge reconstruction.

The county issued a notice of study completion this Wednesday, August 21, which triggers a final 30-day public commenting period. During that time, anyone who has concerns about the environmental impact of the project that haven't already been addressed, is encouraged to contact county staff.

If there are no major concerns, appeals, or objections in that 30 day period, the MCEA process is considered complete and the county will move to tender the bridge reconstruction this fall.

County council already approved a reconstruction option which will keep one lane of the bridge open throughout the entire repair process.

To learn more about the bridge reconstruction, visit the project's website.

Questions and comments can be directed to Kelly Vader of BM Ross; Ryan Errington, Bruce County's Engineering Manager or to the Minister of the Environment, Conservation and Parks.
