South Bruce Grey Health Centre will be hosting two upcoming community engagement sessions.
President and CEO, Nancy Shaw, says SBGHC wants to gauge the community on what they want to see from the healthcare service moving forward.
"We are certainly interested in hearing from our community as we continue to plan for the future and address ongoing health system challenges. So we'll certainly be providing some information and then looking to our public to bring forward questions and comments and get their feedback," Shaw explained. "Looking to find out what kind of healthcare services our communities are interested in looking at for the future. Certainly, what services could be delivered at each site to best serve all communities across the South Bruce Grey Health Centre Region with the resources we have."
Shaw adds that part of the discussions will involve the ongoing challenges at the Durham and Chesley hospitals. She notes that before even engaging in these public sessions, the SBGHC has a clear goal in mind no matter what they hear from the community.
"The main goal is to continue to provide access to care across all four of our sites for our communities. As far as what services actually look like, nothing has been decided yet and we really are interested in what our communities can bring forward, and start to look at that information," added Shaw.
The sessions will be Monday, August 26 at 6:00 p.m. at the Durham Community Centre and Tuesday, August 27 at 6:00 p.m. at the Chesley Community Centre. An online survey will also be available online for those who can't attend. The sessions are open to anyone.
To register to attend, you can contact: communications@sbghc.on.ca or 519-370-2400 ext. 2326. SBGHC are also collecting feedback through a survey that can be accessed here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/2PLNTSG.
Printed versions of the survey will be available at both community engagement sessions.
