Home sales in Grey Bruce Owen Sound are up over nine per cent from last year, but transactions are still lagging behind the ten year average.
The Realtors Association of Grey Bruce Owen Sound sold 262 units through the MLS System in July 2024, which is 13.8 per cent below the average sales over the past decade.
On a year-to-date basis, home sales totaled 1,484 units over the first seven months of the year. This was a decrease of 4.9 per cent from the same period in 2023.
The overall MLS Home Price Index composite benchmark price was $586,400 in July 2024, up modestly by 1.6 per cent compared to July 2023.
The dollar value of all home sales in July 2024 was $167.4 million, a gain of 16.6 per cent from the same month in 2023.
The number of new listings was up by 22.5 per cent from July 2023. There were 506 new residential listings in July 2024. This was the largest number of new listings added in the month of July in more than five years.
