One person taken to hospital following assault in Listowel

Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating an assault that took place in downtown Listowel.

Police said that officers responded to reports of an assault that took place between 3:15 a.m. and 3:30 a.m. on Saturday at the intersection of Main Street West and Mitchell Road South.

One person was seriously injured during the incident and was taken to the local hospital.

Police are asking for any witness accounts and/or dash-cam video footage of the incident. Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
