Major work completed at local park

The renovations and improvements at the Bruce Power Regional Soccer Park are complete.

A release on August 1 from the Municipality of Brockton shared the news that the work to complete the accessible washrooms and change rooms, equipment storage, concession booth, pavilion, and additional parking spaces is finished.

The work was made possible when the municipality got a capital grant through the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program (ICIP), which contributed $352,032 from the federal government and $293,331 from the provincial government to fund a 1583 square foot building at the Bruce Power Regional Soccer Park.

"The new facility at the Bruce Power Regional Soccer Park has been in operation since opening early July. There are 5 full fields and 4 mini fields with the primary user being Walkerton Football Club. The relocation of the parking lot to better accommodate users occurred in the fall of 2023 with the addition of 2 EV chargers for residents and visitors," the Municipality of Brockton shared via its release.

For pavilion rentals please visit the municipal website Brockton.ca or call the Parks and Recreation Department at 519-881-0625.
