A group of local organizations are receiving provincial funding.
Huron-Bruce MPP Lisa Thompson announced that the province would be providing just over $800,000 in funding for a large group of local organizations in her riding on July 22.
Groups splitting the funding include Women’s Shelter, Second Stage Housing and Counselling Services of Huron, Women’s House Serving Bruce and Grey, Community Living Central and South Huron, Huron Perth Public Health, Huron Safe Homes for Youth, Huron-Perth Centre for Children and Youth, Victim Services Huron Perth and Bruce Grey, Community Living Wingham and District, Kincardine and District and Walkerton and District, Grey Bruce Public Health and finally YMCA of Owen Sound Grey Bruce.
In total, Huron-Bruce will be receiving $807,450.57 in funding that will be shared among these groups.
“Our local agencies make our communities stronger, more resilient and inclusive. They work hard to provide people with access to the right resources and services they need to succeed and thrive,” said MPP Thompson. “By strengthening support to our local community agencies, we are helping them deliver critical services to people in need,” Thompson added. “Across Huron-Bruce, we are fortunate to have agencies that are thoughtfully looking for the best approaches to serve our communities."
