Dog involved in biting incident in Sauble Beach

Public health officials are hoping to identify a dog after it bit a man in Sauble Beach Saturday.

Grey Bruce Public Health reported that the victim was helping catch a dog after it had gotten free from its leash between 3 and 4 p.m. at the Sauble Lodge Motor Inn, 213 2nd Ave. N.

The dog is described medium-sized with brown curly fur. The dog is about two years of age, weighing about 20 to 30 pounds.

The dog was with a family of four when the incident occurred.

Grey Bruce Public Health needs to confirm the dog is not infectious with the rabies virus. By verifying the health of the dog, the victim can avoid receiving the post-exposure rabies treatment.

Anyone with information related to this incident is asked to call Grey Bruce Public Health at 519-376-9420 ext. 1455.
