CT Scanner campaign in home stretch after major donation

The Wingham and District Hospital Foundation is nearing its goal of bringing a new CT scanner to town after a generous donation from a local construction company.

Joe Kerr Limited pledged $100,000 to the Caring Together campaign, bringing the fundraiser to over $2.3 million.

"It’s always a pleasure to work with the Kerrs," said WDH Foundation Executive Director Nicole Duquette-Jutzi. "They are dedicated, community-minded business owners who are always eager to know how they can help."

The goal is to raise $2.5 million through community-based fundraising to bring CT Imaging to the hospital.

The foundation said on top of the generous financial contribution, owner Andrew Kerr also volunteered his time to work on the Caring Together campaign as a Team Leader.

"Supporting the hospital has always been important to us because it is important to all our employees and their families who make this community a great place to run a business," said Kerr. "A new CT Scanner is a great next step to advance care in Wingham."

The fundraising campaign covers not only the cost of the new equipment, but renovations needed to implement the service at the Wingham Hospital.
