Charges laid following 'serious assault'

A Hanover man is facing numerous charges following what police are calling a "serious assault."

On July 8, South Bruce OPP officers responded to a reported assault that occurred on the day before on a property on Bruce Road 4 in Brockton.

Investigators determined that the suspect in question assaulted a victim with an edged weapon. The victim sustained minor injuries.

As a result, a 24-year-old Hanover man now faces numerous charges including uttering threats, two counts of assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm and two counts of failing to comply with probation orders.

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located in Walkerton on July 9 to answer to the charges.
